I'm a decidedly plus-sized American woman living abroad in China, wearing clothes, and trying my hand at fatshion blogging.

The dress is from a shop called Zen, the bracelets from my Grandma, and the other jewelry from a store called Best of Everything.
This was, of course, thrown together with the goal of creating the loudest, most colorful outfit I could for my last day in the United States.

Shorts are from Forever 21+, tights from Hips and Curves, and shirt from a NYC tourist shop.  I was also playing with some blue hair chalk that I bought from the Body Shop.  It’s actually pretty fun, and it seems like a good solution to the problems that needing to have normal looking hair on a daily basis that the whole having a career thing presents.

The dress was from Forever21+, in size 2X, and the sweater was my mom’s (I’ve stolen it).  What I’m really excited about is the knee-high stockings and the petticoat, both of which came from the plus-size lingerie company Hips & Curves.  I’ve always liked their website, and was very excited to order some stuff from them while I was in the States!  The stockings are amazing.    The come up to exactly where they ought to, even on my huge calves, and they’ve stayed up very effectively all day long.  I like the petticoat, and the shape it gives to my dresses, but I wish it was a little longer (at least knee length).  I also bought some other things from them (thigh highs, garter belt, tights, underthings), and all of it was really good quality and pretty.

I’m heading into my final days in the USA before going back to China.  It’s turned into quite the shopping journey, and I’ve acquired plenty of new clothes and way too many pairs of new shoes (which I can’t buy in China.  My size 9.5 feet are too big.).  I’ll hopefully be posting more over the next couple of weeks.

You know, I bought a pair of pajama jeans, and so far they are a lot closer to being the wonders the informercial makes them out to be than the atrocities and affronts to fashion that the rest of the internet makes them out to be.

They don’t feel like pajamas though.  They feel stiff like jeans.  They also aren’t very stretchy.  In terms of comfort, they aren’t as comfortable as leggings.  They don’t have the weird back gap that literally every pair of jeans I’ve ever tried to wear has.

I also don’t feel like I’ve given up on life, pride, and personal appearance by wearing them, so there’s that.  They do good things to my hips.

The picture isn’t perfect, because the underskirt got bunched on one side, but I like it anyway.  Custom made dress and shoes.

The teal skirt makes a reappearance (since it shows up in like half my posts.  It sparkles, and therefore must be shown.  Over.  And Over.  And over again.)

The skirt is custom made, the top a gift from my sister, the pink halter bra thing is actually my bikini top, and the necklace was a homemade gift from my mom, who is a potter.

The sweater and the top underneath were gifts from my sister (three Christmases ago, and never mailed, so I got them upon arriving home from China.), The skirt is from the Night Market, and the horse bag is from ATM.

I took this picture on my last day in China, right after dying my hair, in preparation for my trip home to the USA.
The shirt is from a British girl who didn’t want to carry a load of clothes back to her home country when she left.
Custom made shoes.
Leggings from Fat Auntie (the one and only plus-sized shop where I live).

I’m back in America for the first time in three years!  My hometown is basically a little seaside fishing village turned tourist trap, but my main point here is that there is an ocean in here, and I have every intention of swimming in it.
I was sincerely planning on getting something less revealing in terms of a bathing suit, but I guess everybody else bought their bathing suit months ago, and pickings were slim (unlike me).
Anyway, necessity breeds courage, and I guess I’m hopping on the fat girl in a bikini bandwagon.  I personally like how it looks, though, so there’s that.  I tried to get a non-grainy picture, but as you can see I didn’t succeed there.
the suit is made up of separates from Walmart, because that’s where my aunt took me.
